My New Crochet Adventure!!!!

I decided to take up the art of crocheting, and I am loving it! I have made 8 scrunchies and a pot holder, and will make lots more! I am still learning but think I am getting the hang of what I have learned already! It is so much fun to make something with my own hands, and see the end result. I have posted some of the scrunchies in my store at Bonanza. Here are just a few pictures of what I have made, and you can click on the pictures of the scrunchies and they will take you straight to Jessica's Boutique on Bonanza! Each thing I make is made with love!

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think! There Will be more to come! Keep checking to see all my creations, made by hand!!!!!

This is so Embarrassing!!!!

Friday my husband got him a Droid Pro, and I ordered me a Pantech Crux. I received it Wednesday. It is a touchscreen. I added all of my contacts to my new phone and started texting my husband. He never received my texts. I was wondering why. I sent a text this morning saying "Good Morning I love you"
I then receive a call asking me if I had been texting him. I said, "I have been texting my husband." He said that he had been getting text saying I love you from someone named Jessica. I was like oh my god I am so sorry, I must've put my husband's number in wrong. He said that his was 5185. My husbands is 5285. I said that I had just got a new touch screen and that I was still getting used to it. He wasn't mean or hateful. I bet he was laughing at me. I wonder how many people is gonna be laughing at me that I don't even know. LOL! I don't care. I am laughing at myself!!!  Needless to say the first thing I did when I got off the phone was go in and change my husbands number. Lesson learned, Make sure you have the right number before you text anyone, you may embarrass yourself. Go ahead and laugh! I don't care!

The Hardships of Selling Online!

It is so hard to sale anything anywhere and online is no exception! The economy is down, but I am optimistic that we will pull through. Everybody is saving what money they do have for what may lie ahead. I understand that, but if all the people saved every penny that they had we would have no economy. You have to spend money for there to be growth. Without customers a business will not grow and prosper, and the same goes for the big picture. Buying online is one way to save some money. You can get great deals at Bonanza.com. There is always a sale going on. We have rushes up to 50% off on items. Who wants to miss a sale like that. You can check out my items at Jessica's Boutique!

You have to buy inventory, and then you have to take pictures, and make sure they are good pictures. Then you have to list your item, with a description that states any flaws that the item may have. You have to research your item for pricing, and popularity (which you should do before you purchase the item for resale).  The best part is when you see that item sold on your listing. You excited, and hope that when the customer gets their item that they love it. I strive for complete customer satisfaction. I will do anything in my power to make my customers happy. It is a hardship to sale online when you are not getting sales, but it is a wonderful feeling when you are saleing item. I absolutley love it.

I am sorry if this post is not that good. I am not all that good at putting thoughts down in words, but at least I do try! LOL!

My Lucky Puppy!

Lucky

This is Lucky! He had a total of 10 brothers and sisters. He is now 9 weeks old!

On February 13th 2011 my lab named Daisy had 11 puppies. Within the course of one week we lost 3 of them. Two she layed on, and one was the runt that didn’t get enough to eat.

About 3 weeks ago my daddy got the one that he want to keep, the only white one in the bunch. Thank god he did, because the puppies ended up getting parvo. We lost a total  of 6 puppies to parvo. Lucky is the only one that I was able to save. I had to force him to drink. I couldn’t get him to eat, but I did keep him hydrated. It was so sad. The puppies looked so pitiful. I tried to save them all, but  I could not. I wasn’t going to keep any of the puppies, because we have enough dogs. But, after saving his life, I can not give him up. I have grown attached to him. He is such a loveable puppy. I named him Lucky because he is so lucky to be alive.

I just had to share this little story of a miracle puppy, that is now almost like my baby. He will always be by my side.  You can see what I do during the day at Bonanza.com

Alzheimer's is such a sad disease!

Alzheimer's is such a sad disease! You say goodbye to your loved one before they are even gone, in a way! You lose them before they leave this world. I take care of my granny with Alzheimer's and it is a very hard job. Not just physically, but mentally also. You can remember everything that happens good and bad, but they remember nothing. It's like it never happened.
Just today my granny started talking about that the only place she could stay was with her Daddy. He has been gone for a very long time. He died of a heart attack over 40 years ago, I think. It just makes me want to cry!  Especially when she has a moment of clarity, and realizes that she can't do anything. She started crying and there was nothing I could do, because no matter what I said it didn't matter, her mind was stuck on it. I just breaks my heart to see her this way. But, I couldn't leave her and have her in a nursing home. The only reason that would happen is if there was no way she could stay at home. I am going to keep her here as long as possible! She may forget that this is her house and she is at home, but at least I know she is right where she needs to be, even if she doesn't.
About a year ago I wrecked my car and broke my hand, I had a cast for 6 weeks. This was a very trying time in my life. I was taking care of my granny, taking her to the bathroom and so forth, and trying to keep the house straightened up the best I could with one hand. I cried alot then, I look back and can laugh at myself sometimes. I was so clumsy. But my point is I had to do most of the things that I normally did, regardless that I had a broken hand. I did what I had to do! My motto is "What doesn't kill us makes us stronger" and I truly believe that. I feel that I am a stronger person from my experiences. I had been losing weight when I wrecked my car, and I told myself that it was not going to stop me. It was not going to beat me down. I have lost a total of 85lbs. I feel better able to care for my granny now that I am smaller, because physically I feel better.
My point in this post is that with so many diseases out there, Alzheimer's is one of the most saddest there is. I know there are alot that are just as sad, but I haven't had any experience with those. I can only comment on what I have been through with my granny.
Most of the time I can deal with her forgetfulness, and outburst pretty well, I just try and over look it. Sometimes it gets to me, because she can be so hateful. I know it is the Alzheimer and that is why I can deal with it. The other day she hit my niece. I couldn't keep my mouth shut about that. I know I didn't do anything but make it worse, but she is not in her right mind to discipline the children. That is my job. I told her that if she wanted to hit someone to hit me. She couldn't hit hard. I stood there while she tapped at me, and I started laughing, which in turn made her laugh. I love to make her laugh! It didn't last long, but it was a good moment!
I don't mean to ramble, but I hope that someone who is dealing with Alzheimer's can take comfort in that they are not alone, I know that I do.
The other day was really bad, and I had to get out how I was feeling so, I went to the forums on Bonanza.com and posted in the personal area. I had so many comments, that made me feel better. Bonanza is a great selling site where, we are not just sellers and buyers. It feels like we are a community! I love it there! It helps me to have something to do, other than sitting around wishing I could go somewhere and being bored. I can't leave my granny by herself, so I can't get a job outside of our home. I found a selling and buying site that is the best place that I have ever found online! The people are great, caring, and generous!
You can check out my booth at http://www.bonanza.com/booths/jphendrix and see what keeps me sane while caring for my granny!
Thanks for reading my blog! There will be more coming soon!Bonanza.com

How I Got Into Online Selling and Selling on Bonanza!!

I am a mom, wife and a caregiver for my granny who has Alzheimer's. I got married at 17 and had my wonderful son at 21. When my son was 4 months old we feel on hard times. My sister lost her baby boy, my husband lost his job, and my car was broke down. I didn't know what to do, other than move in with my granny. She was capable of living on her on at this time.

After awhile  we started to climb out of the hole we were in. My husband got a job, and started to go to school to get his CDL's ( best decision he made), I got my car fixed, and we were able to move out on our own again, except for granny was getting worse, and I couldn't leave her when she needed someone the most. So, we decided to stay and help her. She helped us when we needed it!

I have been a stay at home mom, and caregiver for several years now. About 3 months ago, I made a decision to try and make money online. I then learned about EBay, and started selling there, still am. There fees are outrageous, I started looking for somewhere else to sell that will not take almost half of what I actually make. That is when I came across Bonanza.com. I love it there. Everyone is so nice, and caring, and will help you if you need it. All you have to do is ask. Bonanza is more personal, with much better customer service than eBay. It is free to list your items on Bonanza, you only pay when you sell, and the cost is not nearly as high as eBay. The only problem is I need more sales. My booth on Bonanza is called Jessica's Boutique. I have worked long and hard to make it what it is, and I am always adding new items. You never know what you might find there.

Selling online is something that I love, and it keeps me occupied, while watching my granny. Keeps me from getting as depressed as I would otherwise. My granny is to the point where she is not very much company anymore. She either sits there quietly or she is hollering all day about anything, and it is usually the same thing all day. You can't tell her anything because she forgets right after you say anything or tell her she is alright. One thing that makes it so bad is I have to get someone to sit for me to go anywhere, and my daddy is the only that will do it. My sisters live a couple towns over so it would be a hardship for them to sit for me, with gas as high as it is. So, I do what I got to do, and live and learn from my experiences. I am sorry if this isn't much to read, but I wanted to tell everyone a little about myself and how I got to where I am now. I hope you enjoyed reading this. Stay tuned for my next post. Check out my booth at Bonanza.com!

I love Yard Sales!

I really love to go to yard sales, you never know what you might find! You have to really look, and you may not go home with any potential products to sale, but you still get to have fun. First thing you need to do is look in your local newpaper or weekly shopper, and there are losts of ads for yard sales, garage sales, and estate sales. There are lots of things that alot of people just want to get rid of and you can get really good prices.
One time I went to a yard sale, and they were waiting for someone to come and pick up everything that they had not sold.  When my husband and I got out of the car, "The lady said take whatever you want." I was shocked! I said, "You mean it's free?" She said, "Yes, everything, we're done." So we proceeded to getting the items that we wanted. We had a trunk full. I couldn't just take all that stuff without offering them a little bit of money at least, so I offered her $5.00. She told me not to worry about it, but I just kinda felt bad. In the end she took the $5.00, and my husband moved some furniture that was waiting for it's new owner to pick up, under the carport. That was a really great experience.
I once found a pair of Docker capri's with tags for $1.00 (Whata Great Deal).
To see some of my treasures that I have found at yard sales check out my booth on Bonanza. It is called My Yard Sale. I will also be adding alot more items in the near future. I also have a store called Jessica's Shop, go check it out! Stay tuned for other posts! They will come!
